Ther are still quite a few who work on "Henry's Lady". You can't go to just any old garage though. Ford dealers are also not eqiupped to handle this job anymore.
The Model "A" engine is a much different animal than todays engines. They are not oil pressure fed as todays cars. The bearings are poured in place babbit material, and shim stock is used to adjust them. The valve trian is in the block and split collet guides are used.
I had a shop in Powder Springs, Georgia babbit my block, and also install sleeves in the cylinders to bring it back to original specs. It had been bored to .100" oversize.
Follow link below to a webring devoted to the "A's". There are links there for builders and supplier of rebuilt motors. Also join up and go to the message boards and ask this question there. Lots of good help!

did he point out a cylinder misfire or what? there is not any such code: "cylinder 6 has failed". the code is perhaps a P0306. which may well be a misfire code, which could be gas, air (compression), or a spark proper situation. i'm a mechanic and that i might propose you get a 2d opinion! an addition i might get cylinder laek down try executed, which brings the cylinder #6 to top ineffective center and seals the valves. the try will end if the valves are sealing or inf the piston rings are worn. even have them placed extremely of oil interior the cylinder the 2d time around to ensure in rings are worn.
