My friend has a Honda ruckus, he called me because I'm supposed to be the mechanical genius but I have no idea what this, The fuel line from the fuel pump to the carburetor works, The fuel pump clicks but is not sucking any fuel, there is fuel in the fuel filter ...but the pump still won't work. It is getting power and making a clicking sound but it is not doing ****. What can I do to fix this without getting a new pump,... All answers are appreciated. Thanks

If there's gas in the line AFTER the pump, on the way to the carb. and it's clicking, but not pumping, you'll need a new pump. I've heard of people hitting them with a mallet/hammer. Seriously.

an in-tank pump, hit the fuel tank with a mallet while someone cycles the key to acc and off. Might work, might not. (I just replaced my pump today, it sucked. er didn't suck.)

Of course if that works, it's going bad and you'll need a new one anyhow..

The bearings for the armature in the fuel pump motor are probably bad from wear and they have failed. It is more trouble than its worth to try and find bearings. Just get a new fuel pump.
