My friend's car was running while we were talking, and suddenly the air conditioning container(idk what else to call it, the box that has the airconditioner fluid in it) blew up and the fluid leaked out all over my driveway. I heard that the liquid can be dangerous. How dangerous is it? I washed my hands and everything, Im going to hose down the driveway tommorow morning. I that going to be enough?

The danger is of frostbite if it sprays on you. The freon part has evaporated long ago - that took just a couple of seconds - and the oil is all that is left. Messy but not dangerous.

EDIT - former customer is right. If you mean the antifreeze - the engine coolant instead of the air conditioning - it is toxic but not environmentally hazardous. Wash it well with water. (Thanks for catching that, FC!)

Air conditioning or antifreeze?? the air conditioner system has a gas in it that would just blow out into the air. Any oil in the system is relatively harmless but is also only a couple of ounces of fluid. Sounds more like the antifreeze leaked out all over your driveway. It's only dangerous if you or your pets drink it. hose down the driveway and wash your hands and your good.

Being an aircraft mechanic involves several dangers and many of them were mentioned above. Care should always be taken, but accidents can happen even then. Another danger is screwing up and losing your license or even going to jail. While that is not all that common, it is a danger that should be mentioned. Do your job right, double check your work, (especially if you're signing it off without an inspector), and you'll be fine.

It's good that you are going to hose it but this fluid is sweet and certainly appealing .. don't know what animals could come and drink it tonight.
