The problem is that it is a 98 Buick Park Avenue.

Have you scanned for fault codes?

rarely do all 3 coil packs quit working at same time. 1st thing is to is determine if it is fuel or electrical.when it quits running u need to check the fuel pressure and or spark plug fire. this needs to be done as soon as it happens. if it cools down your readings will be normal and it runs fine. if fuel pressure is fine it is probably a heat related electronic failure. crank sensors, control modules, and coil packs battle a lot of heat under the hood and over a period of time they start breaking down. this does sound like a problem that a control module would cause. i have changed many modules that have caused this problem. some parts stores can check modules and they will check good because they dont check them on a 230 degree engine. a crank sensor should pull a code on a scanner. locate, isolate, eliminate.

Take $30 to ANY quicky lube and have the THROTTLE BODY and the IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE cleaned up to SHOWROOM! They FINE tune the AIR coming in and cause all this trouble! Clean the EGR as well! Less than $50 will fix it! EZ!
