Is there any way to make my battery mower work? It won't charge!?

The mower is 2 years old. It has been crappy since I bought it. I called a year after I purchased it and they sent me a new battery. It's a 48V Ryobi mower. The new battery worked for 3 charges and then IT died.

I can no longer reach anyone at Ryobi who will talk to me. I bought it at Home Cheapo and they won't return it.

I have 2 battery chargers and 2 batteries and 1 mower that doesn't work, and a crap of tall grass.
Anyone? It's practically NEW. It has been used probably 10x.

Your Mower needs a working alternator, that's why the battery isn't charging whilst you mow. So it's either the alternator or the wiring around it, I'm fairly sure that any backyard mechanic can help you with your problem. I don't know anything about mowers but a car alternator averages $200-300 brand new. Hope this helps.

Ryobi = JUNK I learned that the hard way too, and I will NEVER buy anything with that name on it or recommend it.

If I were you I would just write the thing off and go purchase a good lawnmower a gas engine one this time, those cordless battery powered mowers are junk all of them! Or get an electric mower and a good extension cord, they are decent.

Sorry to hear about your bad luck but I had the same problem with some of their cordless tools they just suck and their customer service blows, and after 90 days Home Depot won't do anything warranty wise. Its a costly lesson but thats how we learn sometimes.

So you ran into the brick wall just as I and many others have. Basically we or anyone who buys Ryobi products is being suckered and you might as well be burning your cash, sometimes cheaper is not always better.

Call the Ryobi manufacturer service line, maybe there is a recall that Home Depot doesn't know about. If not , they can still help you
