My Renault Clio which is a 54 plate, each time it rains ill literally wake to go into my car and there is a puddle of water under the pedals, it is like this on both sides, I've heard that a lot of people are saying it could be the sunroof etc, but just above the door next to the sun visor where the roof handle is ridiculously wet also, and surely this can't be the sun roof!
I really need some advice tips, to fix this as my car is becoming more and more stinking of wet dog, damp and lucky for me I have no sense of smell, but when I have friends and girlfriend in the car who can smell, it really is embarrassing!

I'm open to all suggestions, on how to fix this problem, how I can find this problem.
I have no clue about cars apart from how to drive them, so please avoid the technical terms of explaining things to me!
Thanks a lot in advance, and hopefully you can help me solve this once and for all! :)

here a garage may be quickest way forward. a renault one that is. roof are known to leak and water follows gravity. we may be able to check leak for self by using a hose on roof and noting where it comes in.

seals on roofs harden with age and grit etc can stop them sealing. even a small hole in sealing can allow a lot of water in.

we really need to strip back roof section to gain access to seals.. handle etc. here we need workshop manual etc hence suggestion dealer best way to resolve. they may have found this before and have a fix ready to run.

Look at the upper edges of the windshield where the glass seals to the body. This seal dries and cracks leaving a gap that allows water to enter the cabin area. Permatex makes a windshield seal repair caulk. Put a bead of this caulk along the cracked area and the leak should be fixed.

Is there an aerial up there? If it's wet at the roof it can only be that, the top of the windscreen seal or a sunroof drain blocked.
