My dad bought a ford focus 60 plate 6 months ago with only 6000 miles on clock from arnold clark. Through the bad weather we are having in scotland he noticed that the drivers side floor had a puddle on it. He phoned up arnold clark and they said to my dad he was to phone up ford as it was under warranty. He phoned up ford and they told him that it wasn't under warranty and he would have to pay which could cost hundreds. What should he do is there anyway to get this sorted as this is a disgrace.

A VERY common cause of a leak on the Ford Focus is the pollen filter cover not being put back on correctly. Take it to the dealer and ask them to check the pollen filter housing. The technicians will no about it as it is a common issue and takes minutes to fix and is always caused when the car has been in for a service and the technician has not put the cover on correctly.

You will not get any help from Arnold $hark as they are renowned for being of no help at all.

Try a couple of Ford dealers in your area. If you're not successful, take it further. An undamaged 60 plate car should not leak. Next time don't buy a Ford. They're not bad cars, but according to someone I know who is an aftersales auditor for Perry's, Ford's warranties are dreadful and don't cover a lot of things you would expect them to.

properly Tom- Christmas Greetings - regrettably, i've got self belief lots of the individuals who responded did not notice which you have been posting from the British Isles. in the beginning, permit me say I sympathize with your plight of all the floodings on your region. optimistically, it is on the threshold of an end. Britain has had extra beneficial than its truthful proportion interior the previous few years. Now as on the one which you love concentration.. of people who've responded so a procedures, there is merely one reaction I relate to....it is MJR Water (rain, perhaps wind pushed) is washing down the windscreen, and into the canopy. The cover is designed to accomodate a definite volume of water, yet not as much as required to compliment the flow Noah's ark. And certainly there are drain holes, coming via the firewall, and that they are oftentimes outfitted with versatile rubber/neoprene spouts or teets. in case you may come across those and get your hand/arms in the place you may rubdown those teets, you would be able to locate some nastry dirt popping out of them., in case you do, then it relatively is the restrict you have from drainage. If truthfully they are plugged up, (not that unusual) the water certainly will locate its way on the inboard fringe of the firewall and under your carpeting. I strongly suspect it relatively is the venture, simply by fact the front wiper motor is placed interior the canopy section, and perhaps administration sensors for the two front and rear are placed close by. in case you may, pull the carpet and underpad thoroughly out of the motor vehicle and go away out interior the sunlight (no pun meant) to dry out. force the automobile for some days without carpeting.. won't harm something. somewhat extra pavement noise for particular yet in any different case not something. it could additionally provide help to stumble on the place especially water is stepping into. Your automobile being 2 yrs previous has of course considered rain formerly without getting moist interior, so I strongly doubt that it is a structural production unit flaw. suited o' luck. Ralph

Typical Arnold Shark.

You could go back and get really shirty with them because they ARE obliged to fix it, but personally I'd rather let my dog work on my car than let one of ACs untrained monkeys loose on what is a high tech piece of engineering.

Take it to a real Ford garage.
